Okay, so I’m giving a rundown of everything in my model bag. These are the items I make sure to have when booked for a runway show or photo shoot.

  1. Heels – Neutral colored, strappy heels are ideal, but a nice pump is also useful. Don’t forget to bring any other colors requested by the designer.
  2. Robe & Flip Flops – Between all the fittings, hair and makeup going on backstage, it’s nice to have a robe & flip flops to throw on when you don’t want to go through the hassle of putting those jeans & boots back on.
  3. Face Cover – It’s important to have something to cover your face when changing into designer garments. This will help to prevent makeup from getting on the clothes.
  4. Scentless lotion – Won’t catch me ashy on the runway! But you don’t want any scents to get into the garments, so leave your Bath & Body Works at home.
  5. Clear Deodorant – So you don’t get white marks on the clothes!
  6. Wipes – To spruce up when things get hot & sweaty. There’s a lot of hustling backstage.
  7. Requested clothing items – Anything the designers have asked me to bring.
  8. Emergency items – Fashion tape, makeup kit, hair kit, masking tape – just in case! (see Runway Monday post from March 18, 2019)
  9. Business/zed cards – For when networking opportunities arise!

Comment below and let me know what’s in your model bag. I’d love to hear if you’ve added something based on my list, or even some things you keep in yours that I didn’t mention!

See You on the Runway! 💋

Hello, 2017!

At the start of each year, I imagine where I would be on December 31st of that year…

who will be in my life?

who will no longer be in my life?

where will I live?

what am I proud of?

what did I learn?

2016 had a few bumps in the road, but I made it through, I accomplished, I conquered, and I learned. As 2017 begins, I’m excited for the opportunities to come, and I challenge myself to walk in my strongest confidence, to be unapologetically me, trust my gut, and no longer care what others’ think about me. Those are my big goals for this year, and I expect be that and more! We can do it together! No more fear, stand strong, walk boldly, and take no mess! #STRUT #WalkInLifeLikeOnTheRunway

Check out my vid below. It is a reminder to me of the confidence I exude when I’m walking in my purpose and passion. This is how I will walk through life.

Awesome Runway Workshop! Pics!

Another great two hour Beginner Runway Workshop: LA Fashion Week Edition in Hollywood on Feb 27th. We had a six-model turnout, and one even traveled all the way from New Mexico! They’re already asking about the next one. I love what I do!

Congrats to the ladies who attended!

Special thanks to NTG Photographer Nick Woods of Angle & Attitude Photography for the photos, and Brandi Allen for assisting with music, etc.

Cure the Runway: Benefiting Children’s Hospital LA

I had the pleasure of working with Eileen Isagholian of BLVD Couture on the Cure the Runway fashion show, which raised awareness about childhood cancer, and donated event proceeds to Children’s Hospital LA. I thought it was a great cause, since I’ve had a number of family members that have fought the cancer battle.

NIKOL Talent Group came in for model booking, and I was able to confirm 6 models for the event, including 2 NTG models, and 1 model who attended my runway workshop in February! The models looked great, and had a lot of personality on the runway. The event had a great turnout, and I’m extremely happy to have been a part of such an amazing cause!

NTG Representing from LA to LA!!

LA Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015 was awesome!! Beautiful designs, and of course NIKOL Talent Group models were everywhere!!

Art Hearts Fashion and Style Fashion Week are the two biggest LA Fashion Week events every season. Last season in October, we were able to book 14 models in 3 different events. This season, we booked 8 models in 3 different events: LA Fashion Council, Art Hearts Fashion, and Le Petite Cirque Circus Couture, an exclusive event by Nickii Jean Magazine. I always enjoy attending shows to support NTG models!!!!

Behind the scenes, I was working hard representing NTG on the Nickii Jean Magazine event. It began with the audition I hosted, where we had over 50 models attend! Then as we got closer to show time, I ran rehearsals with the models, taught some NTG choreography for two fashion installations, and cued the models backstage during the show. Special thanks to Tina Summers and Nickii Jean for inviting me to come on in this role once again for them during LA Fashion Week. It’s always a pleasure working with them, and I’m super excited to do it again in October!! Woop!

I also had the opportunity to travel with NTG Client, SkinTone Clothing, to New Orleans, Louisiana for New Orleans Fashion Week to do runway coaching & runway choreography. Just like when I worked NYFW, it was so exciting to see a fashion event in another city, and how they run things. The New Orleans models were awesome! I only spent about an hour with them, teaching them choreography: partner walking, pattern walking, and the individual mood I wanted them to portray on the runway. They all seemed to be very excited about the choreo, and caught on quickly. Working backstage, I didn’t get to watch the scene, but the feedback from the attendees was all positive! Plus, NTG models Spencer & Ieva came out to New Orleans to walk in the show, and really added that extra flair that we needed! I was so excited that they were able to make it out! I’m so proud of them! They represented NTG so well! We brought LA (Los Angeles) to LA (Louisiana)!! Bravo to SkinTone Clothing and all of the models for an amazing show!

Now, I can officially say that NIKOL Talent Group has made its mark on LA, New York, & now New Orleans Fashion Weeks!!! …on to the next city!! Pics below…

Success!! Runway Workshop LAFW Edition!

It’s been nearly a year since my last Runway Workshop, and it was well overdue! …not to mention, just in time for LA Fashion Week auditions!! With two auditions down, and many auditions to come, the February 28th workshop came right before the madness of March auditions, fittings, and shows! The threat of rain didn’t stop the models from coming out, one even flying down to Los Angeles from San Jose, California just to attend!

The models were attentive, and followed instruction well! Now, with some new audition technique, correction of their individual walk, and a few new options of what to do at the tip of the runway, they feel much stronger about fashion week auditions!! Break a leg, Ladies!!

Special thanks to Louis Cuthbert for providing the venue, Jennifer Chen of The Fashion Hub for covering the event, and our very own NTG photographer, Nick Woods, for capturing the photos & videos! Check out a few pics below (videos coming soon!):

#BookedByNTG: The Twins on The Real

Congrats to NTG models, Desiree & Erin on their appearance on The Real! The episode which aired on Wednesday, January 28th was a great platform for these inspirational ladies to share their story about going from being bullied to being LA’s top models! It also gave opportunity to promote their non-profit organization, Twin of A Kind, which speaks against bullying, and promotes youth empowerment. They were even able to take part in giving a makeover to two bullied teens. What a feel-good story! Not only did these beauties get to promote their own cause, and help the made over teens, but their story touched the lives of many of the viewers.

So proud to have been the catalyst to this TV appearance by recommending the story to a show producer on The Real. Not only did it help Erin & Desiree, but it ultimately encouraged others…and that’s what life is about, spreading love.

If you missed the show…check out these photos, courtesy of The Real.
